Helen reached out to us looking to transform her backyard area. She wanted some ideas that would enable her and her elderly dad to enjoy their outdoor area. She needed something that could shade the area without enclosing it as well as a solution that would keep the surface cool for her dad to walk on. She was also looking to do a firepit area so she could enjoy a nice relaxing fire.
Zach went out to the appointment and recommended doing an aluminum pergola with a double under canopy to keep an area shaded to be able to sit under. As for keeping the ground cool, we recommended a light paver patio that would not get as hot and have an added benefit of being slip resistant which was important to Helen’s elderly dad. The firepit area ended up being built with a paver tile that was close to the same color as the paver patio.
The finished product turned out beautifully. Nice and clean look to the entire backyard area. It was a great transformation for them to enjoy their outdoor space regardless of the season.
