When you have a large entertainment space in your backyard, having an enclosed space that offers the perfect combination of indoor-outdoor living is a must. For Tiberiu, that was exactly what he wanted with his back porch space. When he reached out to us, he mentioned that he wanted to enclose his back porch that led to his outdoor pool area. Before construction began, his porch was pre-existing 10×10 columns that were spread out. Originally, he entertained the idea to utilize the existing columns and insert windows to enclose it. When one of our contractors conducted a site visit to inspect it further, it was discovered that inserting windows with the existing columns would not create a succinct, clean look. Instead, it would show a clunky appearance, which is not Tiberiu had in mind.
With that in mind, our team recommended the Model 200 Wall System with a tempered glass knee wall to provide more visibility. Normally, knee walls are recommended to be 36-inches high. In Tiberiu’s case, he preferred it to be only 10-inches tall, so we installed 10-inch-tall knee walls with clear tempered glass. The knee wall was applied with the Model 200 Tempered glass material. That way, he would be able to have clean lines from the inside of the enclosure and could keep an eye on activities by the pool. The wall system was applied in a driftwood color to match the previous columns, giving it a neutral base that blended well with the brick exterior. Our team also installed a 4-track vinyl film door in a smokey gray color for the top sections across the door and windows to apply a thicker sun-shading feature.
When the enclosure was finished, it was everything Tiberiu had hoped for. Not only is the space now enclosed and offers efficient indoor-outdoor living, but also protects him and his guests from bugs, dirt, rain, pollen, you name it, while still gaining clear visibility to activities by the pool and entertainment area. Now Tiberiu can entertain his guests, day or night, rain or shine, in his spacious and updated enclosure.
