3-Season Porch Enclosure in Belmont, NC

A single wall of screening and a basic screen door gave this Belmont homeowner almost no protection from the elements. Valverax replaced the entire wall with a CraftBilt 4-track vinyl-film enclosure system, giving the family a true three-season outdoor living space they can enjoy through spring pollen season, summer showers, and well into the cooler fall months.

The Challenge: A Single Screened Wall That Offered Little Protection

This Belmont, NC homeowner takes genuine pride in their backyard. The lawn is well maintained and the outdoor space is clearly a place they want to spend time in. The problem was that a single wall of standard screening and one basic screen door made the porch nearly unusable for much of the year.

Anyone who has spent a spring afternoon in Gaston County knows what the pollen situation looks like. A fine yellow-green layer settles on every surface within hours of a calm morning, and a screen does nothing to stop it. Wind-driven rain came right through the opening. Bugs found their way in easily. The family wanted to sit outside comfortably from early spring through late fall without fighting the elements every time they stepped out the door.

The homeowner's goal was clear: protect the space from bugs, pollen, and rain while preserving the open, airy feel of an outdoor room. They wanted to leave their porch furniture in place year-round and stop dragging cushions inside every time the weather turned.

The Solution: CraftBilt 4-Track Vinyl-Film Enclosure System

Valverax installed a complete 2-inch aluminum wall system in the Earthstone color, a warm neutral tone that blends naturally with the home's exterior. The framing uses heavy-duty aluminum extrusions, including H-channel, U-channel, floor channel, and male and female frame members, all finished to match in Earthstone.

The enclosure features four CraftBilt 4-track stacking vinyl-film windows along with one additional stacking vinyl-film unit and a fixed transom panel above the door opening. Each stacking window holds four panels of flexible clear vinyl film. The panels slide and stack in their tracks, so the homeowner can open the space wide on a beautiful day or close it completely when rain or pollen is heavy. The vinyl-film panels keep out wind, rain, bugs, and airborne pollen while maintaining a clear, unobstructed view of the yard they work so hard to maintain.

Entry is handled by a custom 36 x 80 inch out-swing door in Earthstone with a left-hand hinge. The door is fitted with a stacking vinyl-film window panel, so it matches the surrounding wall seamlessly. This type of vinyl-film flexible-glazed system is now offered by Valverax as the Sunleaf™ system.

What the Homeowner Said

"We had CraftBilt 4 Track vinyl window and screen porch enclosure installed to make our porch a three season room. The installer was professional and meticulous, went above and beyond and he gets 5 stars , so does the sales rep Andrew. I only give 4 stars overall because the doorknob was very cheap with no options to match the frame color. We are thrilled with this upgrade and look forward to not dragging in our furniture over the winter and being able to keep the pollen at bay so that we can actually sit on the porch in the spring. Thank you Valverax!"
