4-Season Enclosure in Mallard Creek, Charlotte NC

This Mallard Creek homeowner had a 3-season sunroom with vinyl-film stacking windows that could not stand up to Carolina's coldest and hottest months. Valverax replaced the wall system with a Craft-Bilt thermally broken assembly and double-pane low-e windows, turning it into a room she uses all year long.

A 3-Season Room That Couldn't Keep Up

This Mallard Creek home already had a sunroom, built with vinyl-film stacking windows that did a fine job keeping out pollen, bugs, and light rain through spring and fall. But the vinyl-film panels were never designed to hold heat or block cold air, so the room became unusable once temperatures dropped in winter or spiked in summer. Combined with limited, improperly wired electrical outlets, the space had become somewhere furniture collected rather than somewhere the family actually spent time.

The homeowner's goal was straightforward: she wanted a room she could use every month of the year, not just the mild ones, without losing the light and connection to the backyard that made the space worth having in the first place.

A Thermally Broken 4-Season Rebuild

Valverax removed the entire existing wall system and replaced it with a Craft-Bilt thermally broken vinyl wall system reinforced with aluminum, engineered to hold up to Charlotte's full range of winter cold and summer heat. Craft-Bilt double-pane argon filled low-e slider windows and doors replaced the original vinyl-film panels, delivering a bright, comfortable room built for year-round use.

The team also added concealed electrical outlets and brought the wiring up to current code, giving the homeowner a fully functional living space rather than just a view. As a bonus, she learned Valverax handles roofing too, so both the sunroom roof and the main house roof were replaced during the same project.
